Offers a worldwide communications service between members of the U.S. armed forces and their families during times of family crisis.
Offers volunteer opportunities for all ages including blood services, disaster services, health and safety services, and development. A language bank is also provided by volunteer interpreters.
Provides prompt relief for victims of disasters ranging from house fires to blizzards, floods, and hurricanes, including food, shelter, clothing, case management, and damage assessment as needed.
Provides educational training courses such as first aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), swimming, life guarding, home health care, back injury prevention, baby sitting, pet first aid, prevention of disease transmission, including HIV/AIDS.

Provides a coordinator to improve access to health care for low-income residents who have limited English speaking ability that need services from the Buncombe County Health Center and Department of Social Services (DSS).

Provides short term respite care for children ages 0 – 6 whose families are temporarily unable to care for them due to emergency or crises.
Provides transitional living for girls ages 16-21 who cannot live in their homes.
Provides six to twelve months of residential treatment for youths ages 11 to 16 with behavior problems.
Provides highly structured day treatment program/school for youth 11-18 suspended from school.
Trained counselors help families develop a safety plan for offending youths and serve as intermediary between families and outside service providers as well as the court system.
(Formerly Our Place) Provides short-term emergency foster care for up to six youths age 18 or younger who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
Provides in-home counseling, case management, and support to families referred by the juvenile court system.
Provides respite “scholarships” for families that have children with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Provides short-term, emergency shelter for up to six runaway youths ages 7 to 17 who are homeless or have run away.

Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling services for children and their families following the disclosure of abuse.
Educates and empowers children to recognize, resist, and report abuse, reaching children in Buncombe County in Kindergarten through fourth grade.

Services include educating elected officials and community members on children’s issues through an annual Child Watch tour, a Lecture Series, and legislative advocacy. Also teaches under-represented groups the skills to advocate for themselves.
Strengthens local families in the Emma community by providing crisis assistance, parenting support, and opportunities for community leadership development.
Provides basic computer skills for Latino immigrants to improve English language skills, employability and provide access to other services.

Helps find permanent, safe, and loving homes for children in custody of the Department. of Social Services. These children are typically older, a member of a sibling group, medically fragile, and/or have emotional issues.

Provides information and case assistance helping adults age 60 and older and their caregivers to identify individual needs and programs and services best suited to meet those needs.
Provides coordination and linking of services for adults 60 & older to help them live safely in their homes. Services include minor repairs that cannot be provided by other agencies.

Fulfills the mission of Girl Scouts to be “for every girl everywhere”. Recruits girls from resource-deprived neighborhoods in Buncombe County and provides activities that promote self-esteem, mentoring, teamwork, public service and interpersonal skills. Girls participate in all regular Girl Scout activities.
Provides adventure activities, service projects, educational campaigns, cookie sales, badge earning, and friendship building through volunteer led troop activities for girls ages 5-17.

Prevention program for 3rd – 8th graders that encourages self-respect and healthy living by focusing on the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls. Running is a component of the program, but mentors, parents, and schools work collaboratively with the goal of increasing knowledge and self-esteem.

Trained mediators provide conflict resolution in place of costly court litigation for individuals, agencies, or groups who are in a dispute.
Certified mediators provide conflict resolution for couples and families in disputes over divorce, child support, custody, visitation rights, housing, property, or planning for family issues such as placement of elderly or disabled family members.
Provides safe child exchanges, supervised visits, therapeutic supervised visits, and parenting classes.
Youth mediation, education, and life skills training are the three components of this program that serves school-aged youth ages 6 - 18.
