Read to Succeed is on a mission to help close the race-based opportunity gap through community-powered literacy programming that engages children, families, and community partners. We believe literacy unlocks potential and opens the door to opportunity!
WHY UNITED FOR YOUTH
R2S is proud and excited to be a part of the U4Y Network because we know that when communities collaborate, communities succeed! We love the idea of streamlining efforts across our Asheville and Buncombe County communities and emphasizing education and asset-based support for children and families.

OUR COMMITMENT
As a member of the United for Youth Network, we commit to:
- Train, supervise, and provide ongoing support to volunteer reading tutors and community members working on phonological awareness and phonics skills with K-3 students attending Asheville City Schools or Buncombe County Schools.
- Train, support, and provide essential curriculum and culturally relevant and responsive books and learning supplies to community partners who work with early childhood and school-aged children (or make decisions impacting their academic success).
- Support community partners at family engagement events with culturally-relevant and responsive books for children as well as literacy curricula, learning supplies, and family reading materials.
