What is the last movie you watched? Friday the 13th…I love watching scary movies this time of year.

What is the last song you listened to? "Taking Chances" by Sharon Van Etten.

What is your biggest accomplishment? At this point in my life, my biggest accomplishment has been developing a career that provides the flexibility and means to be able to travel and experience history, geography, and culture that will forever impact my life and view of the world.

If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be? Invest in others.

Why do you believe Great Things Happen When We LIVE UNITED? Together, we can really make a difference. Each small act has a ripple effect that starts by touching one person directly, but it then flows to their children, parents, extended family, workplace, and community. There is always something greater that evolves from our every gift and compassionate thought. I have been very fortunate in my life and I feel it is important to give back to those who are experiencing hardships due to their financial or family situation.

Why did you get involved with Highlands Circle? I fell in love with Asheville when I first moved here. We are incredibly lucky to live in such a wonderful place and the sense of community and movement for positive change in this town is really inspiring. At first, I was unaware of the level of poverty and need in Buncombe County. During campaigns and volunteer opportunities facilitated through my workplace, I learned a lot more about United Way and how I could make a difference addressing some of the issues our community faces. I got involved in Highlands Circle to meet and connect with other young people in Asheville that have similar desires to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

What is your favorite quote or motto? “To thine own self be true” – Shakespeare

Each month, we shine a spotlight on a member of Highlands Circle, a group for leaders in their 20s and 30s. If you are interested in being highlighted, please contact Kristina.Dionne@UnitedWayABC.org or call (828) 239-1049.
