OUR COMMITMENT
As a member of the United for Youth Network, we commit to:
Youth Voice and Leadership
- Teach critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a team setting through District C program, mentoring small groups of high school students from a cross-section of the community.
- Retain our region's diverse college students by connecting them to mentors in the business community through the NEXT AVL program.
Public Policy Agenda
- Support quality early childhood experiences and a system of quality childcare to support child development and working parents through public policy advocacy and member education.
Expand U4Y Professional Development
- Host the Community Schools leadership summer retreat in the Chamber board room.
Champion the Network
- Provide exposure for the United for Youth Network and the ways businesses can be involved at the AVL Greater Summit in September 2021, and through the Asheville Chamber's communications channels.
Strengthen Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Families
- Help low-income families secure high-wage job opportunities through the Inclusive Hiring Partners program.
