FREE Summer Meals for Buncombe County Students
Thanks to a partnership between Buncombe County Schools, YMCA of Western North Carolina, and Asheville City Schools, students in Buncombe County will once again have access to free meals this summer. Last year, 88,695 students received meals in our community through this wonderful partnership. "The purpose of the summer feeding program is to fill the gap in-between school sessions where all children can thrive and succeed," shares School Nutrition Supervisor Sheryl Harris. "Hunger should not be the obstacle that inhibits their growth as individuals in any way during their formative years."
Meals are being offered June 17-August 9. Learn more about the Summer Meals program and download a full list of sites throughout Buncombe County where students can access free meals.
