Since last spring, we've been asking you to contact your members of Congress to make sure the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) has funding in 2018. CHIP (known as NC Health Choice in North Carolina) is a terrific success story - playing a major role in our ability to reduce the number of uninsured children to about 4% statewide. Dr. Tayloe, a Greensboro pediatrician and one of the architects of NC Health Choice, highlights the success of this program in his recent op-ed (read it here).
And yet, Congress let the September 30 deadline pass on this bi-partisan effort. Now, states are facing the very real prospect of terminating health insurance for children or freezing enrollment in January (read more here).
TAKE ACTION:
Contact Congress once more to support CHIP funding. Deliver the simple message:
"Children's health insurance is a priority for me. Please pass full funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program before you leave DC for the holiday recess."
