Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Lived in Asheville since 2007. An ecologist by training, I have spent my whole career launching and building programs and organizations focused on education, social justice, and environmental stewardship. Co-founded Green Opportunities in 2008, where I was first introduced to United Way ABC. Live in West Asheville with my wife, Marin, and two boys, Leif and Kai.
Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?
My role is to help cast a vision for how United Way shows up in our community, and to support our phenomenal team of staff, board members, volunteers, and community partners in making that vision a reality. As our United Way turns 100 years old in 2021, I am honored and excited to be a part of defining our next century of impact strategy to be equity-centered, systems-oriented, and school-based.
What’s your favorite thing about our community?
Our vibrant mix of people, cultures, and perspectives, situated in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and our defiant commitment to doing things our own way.
What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?
