Community Engagement Markets Continue to Serve Community
In ongoing efforts to meet food insecurity through COVID-19, our organization, Buncombe County Government, and MANNA Foodbank continue our partnership offering three monthly Community Engagement Markets, providing free food boxes to local residents.
Community Engagement Market Schedule:
Enka Middle School: First Tuesday, 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Erwin Middle School: Second Monday, 5:30-7 p.m.
Isaac Dickson Elementary: Third Tuesday, 1-3 p.m.
Get Involved as a Volunteer
If you're healthy, at low risk, and able to volunteer, lend a hand packing and distributing food boxes for your neighbors. See upcoming markets through our volunteer center Hands On Asheville-Buncombe.
"Many of our regular volunteers are elderly or have health issues so they can't help us like they used to (packaging and distributing food boxes through the Free Community Market during COVID-19). We simply could not serve the number of people that we are able to right now without the help of United Way's volunteer center." - Janice Ianniello, Montmorenci UMC
