Matt Groome is an Asheville native and serves as Vice President & Director of Retirement Plans at Colton Groome & Company. He's also a member of Highlands Circle, a network of passionate young professionals looking to change the odds for families and Buncombe County communities through positive, lasting change. We get to know him a little better in this month's HC Spotlight.
What is the last movie you watched? This Is The End…for the second time. Danny McBride always makes me laugh.
What is the last song you listened to? I actually went to a Martina McBride concert last weekend as part of the Nashville Half Marathon.
What is your biggest accomplishment? That’s a hard one, but the first thing that comes to mind is recently starting a family. It was a long journey.
If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be? I’m young with a lot to learn. I’m still trying to collect all the wisdom and advice I can from other people.
Why do you LIVE UNITED? Because it’s about others, it’s not about you. United Way also allowed me to focus my time with one organization that supports so many other worthy organizations. I trust United Way to steward my charitable time, energy and resources.
Why did you get involved with Highlands Circle? To get to know other people who have similar interests and values.
What is your favorite quote or motto? "Freedom."
