The Homework Diner at Enka-Candler last night was a huge success! We served over 180 students and family members from the Enka-Candler community.
"Many of those in attendance expressed how much they enjoyed the evening and how grateful they were for the opportunity to share a delicious meal with their community family," said Resource Coordinator Kyle Garrett. "They also loved the music and crafts and, yes, even the homework help! And thanks to the gracious support of many individuals in the community, more than 100 students were able to receive holiday gifts this year, a majority of whom picked up those gifts at the event."
Enka Middle hosted their fourth Homework Diner last night! Check out the great photos from the evening. More than 200 attendees – including students, family members, volunteers and support staff – came together to enjoy a delicious meal catered by Green Opportunities and to work on homework together.
Representatives from Red Cross, LakeHills Church, and other United Way volunteers were on hand to share resource information with families.
Our first Homework Diner in the new year will be on Tuesday, January 31, at Enka Middle. All in the Enka-Candler school district are welcome. We’d love to see you there!
