On May 6, Warren Wilson College presented The Grace Lee Peace Award to Josh Wells for his work with students and families at Owen Middle School and the Swannanoa Valley.
This award was established in 1999 by Grace Lee and her three children as a way to honor unheralded sojourners who have advanced the cause of peace.
Among the kind words shared that day about Josh:
"Josh Wells is someone who is not easily intimidated [by middle school youth]. You'll see Josh standing in the doorway ready to give you a high five whether you are a middle schooler or not. I've seen this man deliver a formal presentation, while in a fully padded superhero suit."
