Ramsee Boone

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have dual focuses in music performances and advocacy/mental health. I am in the process of attaining my school and clinical counseling degrees, and so excited about it! I am highly eager to be a means of support and outreach for my community. I share my lovely personal life with my partner of six years, Duncan, and our 4 precious kitties. Together, we curate music, food, and joy!

Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?

As the community schools coordinator at Enka Intermediate, I see myself as a bonding agent for students, staff, parents, and the greater Enka/Candler community. I hope to spend my time in this position analyzing and assessing the dire needs of our community and finding innovative, equitable ways to meet those needs.

What’s your favorite thing about our community?

I think this community is working to avoid being "stuck in our old ways" or resistant to meaningful change.

What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?

Singing opera or jazz, playing the piano or with my kitties, immersing myself in the elaborate world of YouTube drama.

Do you have any podcast, book, music, or movie recommendations?

I recommend Buttering Trio, an alternative band from Tel Aviv. I recommend the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I recommend the movie Ratatouille!
